Finish Because Polonius Cares Activity: Students will be performing a quick (2 or less minutes) scene recreating a the beginning of Act 2 Scene 1 in Hamlet.
Understanding Ophelia: The class will complete the rest of Act 2 Scene 1 and have a short presentation to help contextualize the scene. There will also be a short discussion regarding the entire scene but focusing on the section between Ophelia and Polonius.
Exit Slip/Homework: The class will receive a half sheet of paper with a writing prompt. Imagine you were Laertes and found out about what Reynaldo and Polonius were up to. How do you think he would feel? Respond by writing a short letter of 2-3 paragraphs from Laertes to Polonius.
Journal Prompt: What is the worst (but realistic) way to break up with another person? Why would people choose to do so?
